Indirect Democracy is a political process in which the PEOPLE control the government through elected political officials. This is also called a republic.
This podcast is a progressive, hopefully humorous (I see you judging me) and creative take on the news, commentary and look at the history that shape our republic....in an attempt to indirectly affect our democracy.
This podcast begins and ends with a tribute to "The Morning Sedition" and "The Marc Maron Show." It's why I say it's "Six Past the Hour" and have a quick little thing to say when the music is over. Both shows are gone now. But they were informative shows that brought the funny. They were what radio could be. But the less than intelligent forces at Air America Radio ended them. I just carry that spirit with me. So who am I? I am a registered independent voter. I used to be a Republican. (I am seeking long term counseling for it...kidding) Now, as time goes on, I find I am a liberal/progressive...with slight moderate leanings...don't forget - counseling ;) Checks and balances are key to accountability and oversight of our government's actions. So, although I have no current plans on joining the Democratic party, and that although the one Party Rule is done for now, we still have to hold our government accountable (be it Dems or Repub.'s) I also truly believe that we have to find new ways to talk with each other about what ails this country and our world.
